The Ecohoster project is an initiative in collaboration with the company Ecoembes, which is an environmental organisation dedicated to recycling and the circular economy in Spain. The main objective of this project is that we can promote recycling and sustainability in the world of holiday rentals.
Promoting collaboration and environmental awareness
At the beginning of this project, people living in the Homerti flats will receive help and educational things like posters and stickers to learn about recycling. Leticia Pou, Local and Regional Management Specialist for the Balearic Islands at Ecoembes, stresses the shared responsibility for sustainability.
It is important that local people and tourists work together in taking care of our islands to make them more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Homerti's commitment to sustainability
Toni Carbonell, co-CEO and co-founder of Homerti, highlights the growing awareness of travellers about sustainability when choosing holiday accommodations. The implementation of the EcoHoster seal is considered essential to certify proper recycling practices in these spaces.

This innovative solution, EcoHoster, was developed at TheCircularLab, the Ecoembes circular economy innovation centre. Through CircularTalentLab, a programme that brings together talented young people to address environmental challenges, a multidisciplinary team developed this solution during its seventh edition.
This initiative exemplifies how collaboration and innovation can drive change towards more sustainable practices in the tourism industry, marking a crucial step towards a greener and more responsible future.
